Symposium on Intelligent Systems / Alumni Meeting of the departments:
- Empirical Inference (Bernhard Schölkopf)
- Perceiving Systems (Michael J. Black)
- Autonomous Motion (Stefan Schaal)
The Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems was founded in 2011, incorporating the former MPI for Metals Research (Stuttgart) as well as the Department of Empirical Inference from the MPI for Biological Cybernetics (Tübingen). New facilities are being built on the Max Planck Campus in Tuebingen, and our Stuttgart location is in the process of scientific reorientation.
We are planning to host regular alumni meetings in the future, hopefully every few years. Whenever possible, we will try to select dates around other events, which are such that also overseas alumni will find travelling to Europe worthwhile. For that reason, this year we have chosen a date close to MLSS, ICML, UAI, RS&S and COLT, all of which are going to be held in Europe.
It would give us immense pleasure to refresh our bonds with you and to provide you with an opportunity to share your thoughts and ideas, wallow in memories and learn of the latest new developments at our institute. Get together!
