The Max Planck Research Group for Rationality Enhancement at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems in Tübingen (head: Dr. Falk Lieder) offers a position for a paid internship in a project on executive functions training (project leader: Dr. Maria Wirzberger). This position would give you the opportunity to learn about state-of-the-art software engineering practices from the institute’s software workshop and contributing to cutting edge research and the development of an application that might help thousands of people become more effective.
The goal of the project is to develop and test a computer-based training application that helps people to stay focused and avoid distractions in real-world study and work environments. This involves testing and improving an existing Python application and extending it with additional features.
What we are looking for
Applicants should have a strong programming skills in Python and be familiar with software engineering tools and practices including unit tests and Github. A solid background in computer science, human-computer interaction or related fields is expected. Additional skills and/or interest in machine learning or web development would be a plus but is not required.
