Bei einem Treffen mit der Vizepräsidentin der Europäischen Kommission, Margrethe Vestager, dem baden-württembergischen Ministerpräsidenten Winfried Kretschmann und der Wissenschaftsministerin Theresia Bauer begrüßten die Forscher*innen die neue Digitalstrategie der EU-Kommission und forderten eine starke Unterstützung der Forschung im Bereich der lernenden KI

Sierra has joined the Rationality Enhancement Group to help support the general organization and management of the lab. She is supporting the group behind the scenes in order to keep the lab running smoothly. She has a B.A. in Linguistic Language Studies from UC San Diego. After several years of teaching English at the University of Reutlingen, and completing a course in Office Management, she has decided to support our team.

Akustisch angetriebener Mikroroboter stellt natürliche Mikroschwimmer in den Schatten

Forscher am Max-Planck-Institut für Intelligente Systeme in Stuttgart haben einen frei beweglichen Mikroroboter entwickelt, der sowohl auf einer flachen als auch gekrümmten Oberfläche in einer Flüssigkeit gleiten kann, wenn er Ultraschallwellen ausgesetzt wird. Seine Antriebskraft ist zwei bis drei Größenordnungen stärker als die von natürlichen Mikroorganismen wie Bakterien oder Algen. Außerdem kann er während des Schwimmens Ladung transportieren. Der akustisch angetriebene Roboter birgt großes Potential, die zukünftige minimal-invasive Behandlung von Patienten zu revolutionieren.

Zhichao Ma receives Humboldt Postdoctoral Research Fellowship

The scientist working in the Micro, Nano, and Molecular Systems Lab at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems in Stuttgart will be supported by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation for two years to continue his research on micro- and nano-particles manipulation, on microfluidics and high-frequency ultrasound.
